About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Client ICU, Critical Care, CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center License: Current nursing license in Illinois Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong ICU experience and willingness to float to Step-Down ICU Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our ICU units. Candidates must have strong ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Candidates must also be willing to float down to Step-Down ICU. The candidate must have a current nursing license in Illinois, along with CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act. Documents according to standards of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise to guide other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates issues to the appropriate chain of command. Holiday coverage required.
