Network Engineer (5751)

Network Engineer ISMX is seeking a motivated Network Engineer I to provide enterprise-level engineering and technical support for mission-critical DoW communications and transport networks.This position will provide onsite support Monday - Friday with up to 50% travel expected.In this role, you'll be assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems related to DoW ground & flight-test environments, wargames, and exercises. Assist with operating secure network solutions that integrate cutting-edge terrestrial, satellite, tactical, and cloud-based technologies in support of national security missions.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesNetwork Design & Engineering Design and engineer secure enterprise and mission transport network architecturesConduct network assessments and develop modernization strategiesCreate detailed network diagrams, documentation, and implementation plansConfigure and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and transport devicesTrouble shoot and correct issues affecting tests and exercisesIntegration & Operations Integrate terrestrial, SATCOM, tactical, and cloud-based networking capabilitiesMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network incidents and outagesSupport lab integration, testing activities, and operational transitionsMaintain network documentation and engineering artifactsSecurity & Compliance Implement cybersecurity controls and network hardening measuresEnsure compliance with DISA STIGs and RMF requirementsSupport patch management and vulnerability remediation effortsCollaboration Coordinate with Government engineers, cybersecurity teams, and mission partnersProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team membersRequired Skills/Experience:Clearance Required: SecretUS citizenship is required for work on DoW contractTop Secret clearance (with SCI eligibility) is preferredBachelor's degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degreeHands-on network engineering experienceProven experience with enterprise routing/switching technologies and transport architecturesBackground supporting DoW or Intelligence Community environmentsExperience with Cisco, Linux, VMware, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent platformsCCNA or CCNP certification required (active and current)Strong understanding of DISA STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity principlesProficiency in network protocols, architecture, and best practicesWillingness to travel up to 50% (CONUS and OCONUS)Desired Skills/Experience:Experience with SATCOM or military transport systemsAdditional advanced certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, security certifications)Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, or optical transport technologiesBackground in Space Command or Air Force network environmentsThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
