Calibration Service Manager

As a Calibration Service Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations and continued growth of a calibration laboratory. You will combine technical expertise, people leadership, quality management, customer service, and business acumen to deliver high-quality calibration services while developing the people and processes necessary for long-term growth.

This is an opportunity for an experienced technical leader to move beyond individual technical execution and take ownership of people, processes, quality, customers, and business performance.

We welcome candidates with backgrounds in Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), metrology, calibration, instrumentation, electronics, maintenance, quality assurance, and technical laboratory operations.

What You'll Do

Lead Laboratory Operations & Technical Excellence

Lead day-to-day calibration laboratory operations, ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and on-time delivery.

Optimize calibration processes, equipment utilization, turnaround times, and technical capabilities.

Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Partner with auditors and technical teams to maintain a robust quality system.

Develop & Lead People

Lead, coach, and develop laboratory personnel, technical leaders, and supervisors.

Establish training, cross-training, onboarding, and succession plans to build technical and leadership capabilities.

Set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, recognize achievements, and address performance opportunities.

Foster an environment where employees are empowered to solve problems and drive improvement.

Drive Customer & Business Success

Build strong customer relationships and understand their calibration and service requirements.

Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop new services, expand capabilities, and identify growth opportunities.

Manage laboratory budgets, P&L, revenue, costs, and profitability.

Develop business cases for new equipment, capabilities, markets, and investments.

Lead Continuous Improvement & Change

Champion a culture of continuous improvement using Lean and other process-improvement methodologies.

Identify and eliminate waste while improving quality, productivity, workflow, and customer experience.

Lead corrective actions and sustainable solutions for customer and operational issues.

Encourage innovation and responsible risk-taking to improve laboratory performance.

Plan for Future Growth

Develop 1-, 3-, and 5-year plans for laboratory growth, workforce needs, equipment utilization, and facility requirements.

Balance workforce capacity, customer demand, technical capabilities, equipment, quality, and financial performance.

Ensure compliance with company, customer, governmental, safety, and quality policies.
