Makeup Artist position delivers professional makeup services to guests while ensuring a comfortable and relaxing spa experience. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, procedures and Nevada law. Role and Responsibilities Provide spa guests with a comfortable and relaxing spa experience while ensuring the utmost safety. Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications such as medications, allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy before beginning service. Maintain the highest level of guest service by providing guests with a broad understanding of current techniques and procedures. Be qualified and able to perform all treatments offered. Ensure uncompromising level of cleanliness of work area and/or treatment room at all times. Promote and sell spa/salon services including retail offerings related to the Spa (retail sales goals may be required). Inform facility management of any member guest or facility issues. Be knowledgeable about the facility, property and its amenities to effectively communicate with guests. Report any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team. Perform other duties as assigned. Performance Requirements Demonstrate strong social skills and effectively deal with internal/external guests requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy. Handle customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner, providing empathy and proactive solutions. Effectively communicate with management and employees, both verbally and in writing. Respond to guest inquiries with accurate information on hotel services and local attractions. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations or high hotel activity, serving as a role model for other employees. Resolve complications and complaints by researching the situation and proposing effective solutions. Make decisions and take action based on experience and judgment, sometimes revising procedures for unusual situations. Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity (hand, wrist, arm) to perform massage and other services. Maintain a healthy, fit appearance and positive attitude as a representative of the Spa. Walk, stand, and work 100% of the shift, walking up to two miles. Check work area before, during, and after shift for proper set-up, safety, and cleanliness. Stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time. L lift, bend, stoop, and reach to perform services. L lift a maximum of 50 pounds to a height of 4 feet on an intermittent basis. Maintain attendance in conformance with standards. Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Qualifications Minimum 2 years experience preferably in a resort spa environment.
