Meat/Seafood Clerk

Overview We are looking for a Meat Clerk to join the team at Sprouts Farmers Market. The role involves providing customer service, handling and preparing meats, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Responsibilities Provide high level of customer service. Practice safe food handling procedures. Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck. Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices. Examine meats in storage and rotate to avoid aging. Assist customers with questions and special orders, maintain a positive customer‑focused environment. Know weekly ad items and guide customers in product location throughout the store. Perform Clean As You Go and Fresh At 4 programs. Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. Qualifications At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures. Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong communication skills; capable of working in a team. Physical ability to stand up to 4 hours continuously, walk up to 2 miles per shift, lift/carry 25‑90 lbs., and use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs. within the required force limits. Good vision required for use of knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer. Perform housekeeping duties and clean/sanitize work area (tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer). Adhere to all safety, health, weights & measures regulations and company recipes.
