School Nurse

Certified School Nurse (PEL-CSN)To develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive school-based health program, and deliver services to students to enhance students' health, wellness, and educational performance. All duties are to be performed in accordance with professional standards of school nursing practice, applicable State law and regulations, and Board of Education policies and administrative procedures.Required Qualifications:Education/Training: Baccalaureate Degree or higherLicensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) Valid Illinois Hearing and Vision Screening Certification Valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificationEndorsement: PEL-CSN (Professional Educator License-Certified School Nurse)Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of prior professional nursing experience, preferably pediatric, adolescent, community or mental health nursing, and health program management.Desired Qualifications:National School Nurse Certification (NCSN)Bilingual – SpanishComputer literacy and competencyAbility to interpret and make decisions based on data.Excellent writing and public speaking skills.Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.Excellent leadership and facilitation skills in working effectively with individuals and groups.Ability to serve as a team player.Outstanding problem solving and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrates an understanding and use of equitable and culturally responsive practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Coordination, Teaching, Clinical Practice, Health Office Management, Communication, Special Education, Professional Development, All Other Duties as assigned
