Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) - McLean Naukeag Residential ProgramMcLean Naukeag is a 14 day Residential Program for adults with co-occurring substance use and other psychiatric disorders. This per diem RN position will be located in Belmont, MA. This nurse will function as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team consisting of RNs, CRCs, LICSWs, psychiatrists, psychologists, and admissions/aftercare specialists. Utilizing the nursing process, this role will be responsible for providing for nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.Essential Functions:Accurately assesses patients' needs.Utilizes multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health problems and functional status.Utilizes Recovery Oriented Framework to identify patient strengths.Performs point of care testing.Communicate findings effectively to members of the healthcare team.Documentation reflects response to intervention, demonstrates an understanding of patients' response to treatment interventions.Identifies patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis; utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate a crisis situation.Accurately plans nursing interventions for assigned patients.Modifies and individualizes Nursing Plan of Care and protocols.Participates in the development of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care needs.Partners with patients/families to support recovery goals.Provides and implements nursing care interventions.Establishes a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients.Demonstrates safe, accurate and timely medication administration using BMV scanning.Reviews physician orders in a timely manner.Promotes interventions that provide the least-restrictive alternatives and recovery-oriented goals.Participates in leading patient groups.Accurately evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care interventions.Documentation on the Nursing Plan of Care, protocols, and Assessment Flowsheet reflects response to intervention, demonstrates an understanding of patients' response to treatment interventions.Accurately communicate patients' clinical status at clinical team rounds and change of shift reports.Utilizes evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions.Provides a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care.Provides direction and supervision of MHSs.
