Senior / Staff Full Stack Software Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY Company Stage: Late-Stage AI / Healthcare Technology Office Type: Hybrid (3 Days/Week Onsite) Salary: $162K – $234K Base + Equity + Bonus

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and support scalable cloud-based applications and backend services
• Own customer-facing product features end-to-end across frontend and backend systems
• Make architectural and technology decisions that balance scalability, reliability, privacy, and security
• Improve existing systems for performance, stability, and maintainability
• Evaluate commercial and open-source technologies and contribute to technical strategy decisions
• Collaborate closely with product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams
• Contribute to product development across multiple engineering teams and initiatives
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality standards across the organization
• Build deeply user-centric products with strong empathy for healthcare workflows

Ideal Candidate Background

• 6+ years of experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack Engineer
• Strong experience across both frontend and backend development (backend-leaning acceptable)
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React
• Experience building and scaling customer-facing products from 0→1
• Strong track record working in fast-moving, high-growth environments
• Experience operating at scale within AI startups, high-velocity SaaS companies, healthcare startups, or leading technology companies
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to drive technical decisions independently
• Demonstrated career progression and long-term ownership within previous companies
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Passion for AI and interest in healthcare technology

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare workflows, EHR systems, or clinical tooling
• Familiarity with modern AI tooling integrated into production engineering workflows
• Experience with scalable distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Strong product intuition and ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments
