Position Overview
Waste Connections is seeking safety?focused Residential Rear?Load Garbage Truck Drivers who take pride in hard work, teamwork, and career growth. This is a driver?to?driver position that requires both driving and riding on the back of the truck while servicing residential neighborhoods.
Safety is our #1 value. Candidates must be comfortable working in active residential areas, performing physical labor, and following strict safety procedures throughout the route.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a residential rear?load garbage truck on assigned routes
- Ride on the back of the truck between stops while servicing residential areas
- Repeatedly climb on and off the truck throughout the shift
- Lift, pull, and empty residential trash containers
- Perform heavy physical labor for the duration of the route
- Safely and courteously interact with customers in residential neighborhoods
- Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and route procedures
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Assist driving partner to complete routes safely and efficiently
Job Requirements
- Valid CDL required
- Minimum 2 years of work experience, with a stable work history
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day
- Able and willing to ride on the back of the truck during residential collections
- Comfortable with frequent climbing on and off the truck
- Willing to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other conditions
- Able to work long shifts (5060 hours per week)
- Residential Rear?Load or Front?Load driving experience is a PLUS
