Job DescriptionEvolven Configuration Risk Intelligence Consultant / SME\nLocation: Remote with potential of quarterly travel\nDuration: 6–12 months\nEngagement Type: Full-Time Contract / Consulting\nIndustry: Healthcare and Health Insurance\n\nOverview\nWe are seeking an experienced Evolven Configuration Risk Intelligence Consultant / SME to support a 6–12 month engagement with Highmark. This resource will provide hands-on Evolven expertise to operate, optimize, and embed the Evolven platform into the client's day-to-day IT operations, change management, security, and compliance processes.\nThe goal of the engagement is to move Evolven beyond a technology deployment and establish it as a sustainable operational capability. The consultant will work closely with IT Operations, SecOps, Change Management, application, and infrastructure teams to identify configuration and change risks, accelerate incident investigation and root-cause analysis, improve change validation, and establish repeatable Configuration Risk Intelligence processes.\n\nRoles & Responsibilities\nEvolven Platform Management & Optimization\n\n Maintain, administer, and optimize the Evolven platform and its coverage.\n Configure and tune policies, analytics, dashboards, alerts, and reporting based on evolving customer requirements.\n Continuously assess platform effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve operational value.\n\nConfiguration & Change Risk Analysis\n\n Analyze configuration changes, configuration drift, inconsistencies, unauthorized changes, and other identified risks.\n Prioritize findings and work with customer teams to determine appropriate remediation.\n Help identify patterns and systemic risks across applications and infrastructure.\n\nIncident Investigation & Root-Cause Analysis\n\n Leverage Evolven configuration and change intelligence to support incident investigations.\n Identify changes and configuration events potentially contributing to production incidents.\n Help accelerate root-cause analysis and reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).\n\nChange Validation\n\n Validate actual configuration and infrastructure changes against planned and approved changes.\n Identify failed, partial, unexpected, risky, or unauthorized changes.\n Improve visibility and accountability across the change lifecycle.\n\nRisk, Compliance & Audit Support\n\n Support configuration baselines, policy verification, and change reconciliation.\n Provide reporting and evidence to support security, compliance, and audit requirements.\n Help improve the traceability and auditability of configuration and change activity.\n\nOperational Reviews & Remediation\n\n Conduct recurring reviews with IT Operations, SecOps, Change Management, application, and infrastructure teams.\n Surface actionable risks and findings.\n Track identified issues through remediation and closure.\n Participate in weekly and monthly risk, operational, and value reviews.\n\nIntegrations & Workflow Adoption\n\n Incorporate Evolven insights into existing ITSM, monitoring, observability, change management, and operational workflows.\n Help ensure Evolven intelligence becomes part of established operational processes rather than operating as a standalone tool.\n Identify opportunities to reduce manual configuration and change analysis.\n\nKnowledge Transfer & Process Development\n\n Coach customer teams on effectively using Evolven.\n Develop repeatable processes, operating procedures, and best practices.\n Transfer knowledge to internal teams so Configuration Risk Intelligence processes can be sustained following the engagement.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n Hands-on experience with Evolven Configuration Risk Intelligence in an enterprise environment.\n Strong understanding of configuration management, change management, configuration drift, and change risk analysis.\n Experience supporting enterprise IT Operations and production environments.\n Experience using configuration/change intelligence for incident investigation and root-cause analysis (RCA).\n Understanding of ITSM and enterprise change-management processes.\n Experience working with infrastructure and application teams to analyze and remediate configuration-related risks.\n Knowledge of security, risk, compliance, configuration baselines, and audit requirements.\n Ability to configure and optimize dashboards, alerts, analytics, policies, and reporting.\n Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work across IT Ops, SecOps, Change, application, infrastructure, risk, and compliance teams.\n Ability to operate independently as a hands-on SME while driving adoption and measurable operational outcomes.\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n Experience integrating Evolven with ITSM, monitoring, observability, or other enterprise operations platforms.\n Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments.\n Experience establishing operational processes around configuration and change intelligence.\n Experience supporting highly regulated organizations or environments.\n Strong knowledge-transfer, documentation, and customer-facing consulting skills.\n\n\nExpected Outcomes\nThe consultant will help establish Evolven as an operational capability that enables Highmark to:\n\n Reduce configuration- and change-related incidents.\n Accelerate MTTR and root-cause analysis.\n Identify unauthorized and high-risk changes.\n Detect configuration drift and inconsistencies.\n Improve change validation and auditability.\n Reduce manual configuration and change analysis.\n Establish repeatable Configuration Risk Intelligence processes across operational teams.\n Increase adoption and measurable value from the Evolven platform.\n\n\nCadence: Ongoing operational support with weekly/monthly risk and value reviews\nSuccess Measures\nSuccess will be measured through agreed-upon KPIs, which may include:\n\n Reduction in configuration- and change-related incidents.\n Improvement in MTTR.\n Number and severity of configuration risks identified and remediated.\n Unauthorized changes identified.\n Configuration drift and inconsistencies identified and resolved.\n Improvement in change validation and reconciliation.\n Reduction in manual configuration and change-analysis effort.\n Adoption of Evolven-driven operational processes across relevant teams.\n\n
