Transition Coordinator Job Details Job Type: Regular Pay Range: $36.30 - $44.12 per hour Department: Community Corrections FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt About the Opportunity The Department of Community Corrections is looking to hire a Transition Coordinator to provide life skills counseling and program supervision to adult justice‑involved individuals (JIIs) in a residential correctional program. The incumbent will screen offenders for admission to the program, orient newly‑admitted residents, conduct needs assessments, develop case plans, maintain caseload records, and monitor probation compliance while residents are in the program. Key Responsibilities Screen offenders for admission. Orient newly‑admitted residents. Conduct needs assessments. Develop individual case plans. Maintain accurate caseload records. Monitor probation compliance and program participation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge: Behavior and adjustment problems of adult offenders and treatment methods. Individual and group counseling techniques. Interview and assessment procedures. The criminal justice system, including probation and parole. Caseload management. Skills: Active listening and social perceptiveness. Critical thinking to analyze complex issues. Provision of individual and group counseling. Abilities: Assess needs of adult offenders and develop appropriate action plans. Objectively evaluate information and make sound decisions. Establish and maintain accurate, complete records. Compose clear, concise, objective reports. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences. Build cooperative relationships with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, corrections, counseling, or a related field and one year of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience; OR High school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Additional Requirements Valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Background and criminal history check per Oregon Administrative Rules. Psychological evaluation per department procedures.
