Certified Medical Assistant

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Location: Eloy, AZ, 85131

Duration: 12-Week Contract with Chances of Extension

Schedule: Days | 8x5 per week

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with routine patient care, examinations, diagnostic testing, and clinical procedures.
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, wound care, injections, oxygen therapy, and basic clinical procedures.
• Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and according to state scope of practice guidelines.
• Support physicians during sick call and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment, and patient documentation.
• Monitor, document, and report patient conditions, behavior, and changes in status.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with healthcare policies and procedures.
• Assist with urinary catheterizations, CPR, emergency response procedures, and patient transport when necessary.
• Maintain inventory and security of medications, syringes, medical supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure equipment and work areas remain clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Communicate professionally with medical staff, administration, patients/residents, and external healthcare providers.
• Assist with preparation of reports, logs, safety documentation, and operational records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must hold active state certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or meet state exemption guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, specimen handling, and direct patient care preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and secure healthcare environment required.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards preferred.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency or high-stress situations required.
