Empower students to reach their full potential by supporting the educational needs of those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity focuses on providing specialized instruction in a school environment near Troy, NY, with a flexible schedule—just 30 minutes onsite per month. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive and equitable learning experience for every student.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to implement them effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, educators, and families
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing for 30 minutes per month, onsite
- Collaborate with educational staff to develop, monitor, and revise IEPs as needed
- Offer guidance and resources to teachers and families to promote best practices and accommodations in the classroom
- Advocate for the needs and rights of students to help create an inclusive school environment
