This locum tenens OB/GYN opportunity provides in-house night hospitalist coverage alongside OB Hospitalists, community OB/GYNs, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, and Certified Nurse Midwives. • Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,110 - $7,240
• Location: Tucson, AZ 85712 (Tucson healthcare / Arizona locum tenens)
• Job Type: Locum tenens, per diem, OB Hospitalist (night shift)
• Shift: Night shift 1900–0700, ~5 shifts per month
• Setting: In-house OB Hospitalist coverage; high-volume Labor & Delivery (approximately 6,000 births/year)
• Patient Encounters per Shift: 6–24
• Department Beds: 24
• Start Date: June 1, 2026
• Duration: Ongoing per diem locum tenens assignment

Qualifications & Job Requirements (OB/GYN)

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (required)
• Active ACLS certification required
• Other specialty-specific certifications as required (OB ultrasound, fetal monitoring experience preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN clinical experience; OB Hospitalist or L&D experience highly preferred
• Clean NPDB, malpractice history, and background check
• Preference for locum physicians traveling from ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, or TX

Responsibilities – OB Hospitalist / Labor & Delivery

• Provide in-house night coverage for a high-volume OB center (Labor & Delivery hospitalist role)
• Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies, triage admissions, and perform inpatient OB care
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring (NST, CST, FSE) and make timely clinical decisions
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (Level I required; Level II preferred)
• Conduct routine and complicated deliveries, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
• Repair 3rd- and 4th-degree lacerations and manage postpartum complications
• Make operative decisions and perform c-sections when indicated
• Collaborate closely with midwives, MFM groups, anesthesia, and community OB/GYNs for continuity of care
• Preferred additional skills: low forceps delivery, surgical gynecology (open and laparoscopic procedures)
