Role Description The Staff Registered Nurse provides direct, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with evidence-based practices and Baptist Health policies. This full-time, on-site role is located in Wetumpka, AL and involves assessing patient conditions, planning and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring patient responses. The nurse collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, support transitions, and ensure safe discharge planning. Daily responsibilities include documenting care in the electronic health record, educating patients and families, maintaining infection control and safety standards, and participating in quality and performance improvement activities. The role also requires mentoring less experienced staff, supporting a positive work environment, and contributing to unit-based initiatives. Qualifications Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama and graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred). Demonstrated clinical nursing skills, including patient assessment, care planning, and safe medication administration in an acute or ambulatory care setting. Strong patient education and communication abilities, with skill in explaining treatments, procedures, and discharge instructions to patients and families. Effective collaboration and teamwork skills for working with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams. Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to regulatory standards and hospital policies. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients and tasks, using sound clinical judgment in fast-paced environments. Basic computer proficiency, including use of electronic health records and clinical documentation systems. BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications (e.g., stroke, oncology, critical care) are highly beneficial depending on unit needs. Previous experience as a staff nurse in a hospital or health system setting is preferred but not always required for highly motivated early-career candidates. #J-18808-Ljbffr
