Finishing Assistant 2 (7:00pm - 11:00pm) Operatives Rochester, NY, US Salary Range: $17.00 to $21.50 hourly Diamond Packaging, a global leader specializing in developing innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, is currently recruiting for part-time production workers to join our team. Position Overview Responsible for feeding/catching a finishing machine or fulfillment work zone by packing cartons / product into corrugated boxes per customer specifications and Diamond Standard Operating Procedures. Performs final quality inspections in the manufacturing process per established Diamond Quality Standards and/or direction from supervision. Responsibilities Reviews job tickets for specifications and any customer or Diamond special instructions. Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to job, position and department. Ensures that all needed supplies such as cases, layer boards, dividers, labels, and any other special customer requirements are available and ready at start of job. Packs cartons/product into cases per packing requirements ensuring proper count and fit. Ensures that all quality inspections are performed (e.g., folding orientation, glue, pressure marks, print and die cutting defects) and promptly reports non-conformances to the operator. Assists in the daily moving and staging of materials on the production floor. Maintains recycling bins and area trash. Returns excess supplies to proper locations. Ensures line clearance is performed between different jobs and orders in the gluer or fulfillment work zone. Fills out logs accurately, ensuring load designation and linear footage information is correct. Communicates job status and issues to the on-coming shift. Observes all safety rules and procedures. Keeps the work area organized, neat, and clean. Performs other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Must show ability to train and direct temporary employees within the Finishing and/or Fulfillment production departments. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, job tickets, and procedural manuals. Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to maintain good attendance.
