**Department**CSL SCS: Clinical Providers**About the Department**Mental Health Services (MHS) is a unit within Student Wellness, which is a part of Campus and Student Life. MHS provides mental health care to eligible students and their eligible dependents. Mental health services include: Diagnostic assessments; crisis assessment and intervention; individual, couples, and/or group psychotherapy; medication management; academic skills counseling; and referral services. MHS staff provides consultation to University of Chicago faculty, staff, and administrators, and outreach/education to the campus community. In its care for students, MHS employs a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, supports a psychology training program, and serves as a training rotation site for psychiatry residents.**Job Summary**The successful candidate will be a licensed clinical social worker with established clinical, outreach, and training experience. This individual will also provide mental health programs and services to UChicago students.The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting the mental health needs of university students, a dedication to continuously deepening their own cultural awareness, and a commitment to work on helping create a diverse and inclusive campus environment.This is a full-time, 12-month salaried position.**Responsibilities*** Focuses on meeting the needs of University student populations through providing individual and group psychotherapy and offering outreach and workshops to enhance access and meet the diverse needs of the student body.* Conducts clinical diagnostic evaluation and assessment of students, including urgentcare/crisis evaluations.* Provides goal-focused, evidence-based, time-limited individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.* Provides emergency and crisis intervention services, including scheduled daytime on-call coverage; maintains timely and complete electronic documentation.* Exercises discretion and confidentiality while handling sensitive situations.* Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and/or adheres to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures as related to clinical social workers.* Provides consultation, training, and outreach to members of the University of Chicago student community both during and after hours.* Participates in clinical and administrative staff meetings as appropriate.* Provides clinical supervision of trainees as needed and as appropriate.* Analyzes effectiveness of counseling or treatments and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, modifying plans or diagnoses as necessary.* Interprets, monitors, and records client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan.* Plans own resources to combat social problems, prevent substance abuse, or improve community health and counseling services.* Performs other related work as needed.**Minimum Qualifications****Education:**Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.**Work Experience:**Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.**Certifications:****-****Preferred Qualifications****Education:*** MSW from an accredited institution.**Experience:*** Advanced training or experience with college-age or young adult populations.* Working collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student groups.* Background in the development, implementation, and assessment of mental health programs for university students.* Working in a university counseling setting.**Technical Skills or Knowledge:*** Review, analyze, interpret, and/or prepare federal and state laws, rules, regulations, Code of Ethics, policies and procedures as related to social work.**Preferred Competencies*** Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other offices on campus.* Demonstrated multicultural skills/experience and commitment to diversity and inclusion issues.* Facilitating presentations on mental health topics for a university student population.**Working Conditions*** Direct patient contact or clinical care setting.* Office environment.* On-call responsibilities.* High stress environment.* Use computers extensively for up to 2 hours at a time.Use standard computer and office equipment.**Application Documents*** Resume/CV (required)* Cover Letter (required)* List of Three Professional References (required)The University of Chicago uses AI-assisted tools to streamline and augment some recruitment processes; however, AI is not used to make hiring decisions.When applying, the document(s) **MUST** be uploaded via the **My Experience** page, in the section titled **Application Documents** of the application.**Job Family**Healthcare & Medical Services**Role Impact**Individual Contributor**Scheduled** **Weekly Hours**37.5**Drug Test Required**Yes**Health Screen Required**Yes**Motor Vehicle Record Inquiry Required**No**Pay Rate Type**Salary**FLSA Status**Exempt**Pay Range**$73,000.00 - $85,000.00The included pay rate or range represents the University's good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting.**Benefits Eligible**YesThe University of Chicago offers a wide range of benefits programs and resources for eligible employees, including health, retirement, and paid time off.
