Overview:
The Internet Sales Manager oversees the dealership’s Internet department, ensuring consistent communication with potential customers and effective lead management.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all internet, phone, and third-party leads (e.g., AutoTrader, Cars.com, CarGurus) are contacted within dealership response-time standards
- Monitor and optimize lead response times, contact rates, appointment-set rates, and show rates
- Oversee CRM usage (e.g., VinSolutions) to ensure accurate data entry, timely follow-up, and proper lead source tracking
- Develop and manage outbound campaigns for sales and service (equity mining, conquest, loyalty, and service-to-sales)
- Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to dealership leadership
- Partner with the Sales and Service Managers to align efforts with inventory, promotions, and monthly goals
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and ensure a high standard of customer service
- Manage scripts, call flows, and objection-handling processes; update as needed based on performance data
- Stay current on digital marketing, chat, and texting platforms that feed the BDC
- Other tasks as needed to assist the Sales team
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a dealership, internet sales, or call center leadership role
- Proven track record of hitting appointment-set and show-rate targets
- Strong working knowledge of dealership CRM and lead management tools
- Excellent phone presence, coaching ability, and team leadership skills
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze reports and adjust strategy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Automotive sales or service background preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
