School Food Service Director

We have paired with a nutritionist to develop our 4-week rotating menu to do just that, and after years of working with children we are confident we can get them excited and interested in discovering new items to create lifelong healthy habits! We are looking for a Food Service Director. New Leaf Prep Academy/Preschool serves students in preschool-8th grade that features homemade healthy and organic meals. We are in need of a Food Service Director who will also be a cook who is able to follow recipes, prepare homemade food in large batches for around 200 children, work in a fast paced environment, follow state kitchen guidelines, clean dishes, order and arrange food shipments with suppliers, stock shelves, take inventory, and occasionally pick up groceries. We have a brand new state of the art commercial kitchen with commercial kitchen equipment, double stacked ovens, 6 burner stove and griddle with dual ovens below, commercial vegetable/meat slicer, commercial food processor, 20 qt planetary mixer, commercial Tempstar dishwasher, 150 sq ft walk in cooler and freezer combo and more. The Food Service Director is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the school food service as well as working in the kitchen. The Food Service Director will oversee and manage the other kitchen staff as well as work with them in the kitchen. Our school features homemade healthy and organic meals. • Must have either a Bachelors degree in culinary arts or food and nutrition or a high school diploma and three years of food service experience
