We are inviting strategic, relationship-driven fundraising leaders with a passion for mobilizing businesses and their employees to drive meaningful community impact to apply for our Director, Corporate & Employee Giving role. You will play a key role in advancing United Way’s ambitious revenue growth goals by expanding corporate partnerships, growing employee giving campaigns, and securing corporate and institutional funding that powers our work across Los Angeles County. You will have the unique opportunity to build partnerships that connect organizations and their employees directly to meaningful community impact across Los Angeles.HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CAUSE
Corporate Partnership Strategy Develop customized, multi-dimensional engagement strategies for corporate partners that integrate employee giving campaigns, corporate grants, sponsorships, matching gift programs, and volunteer engagement. Identify and cultivate new corporate partners aligned with the organization’s mission, programs, and funding priorities. Leverage corporate partnerships to connect employees directly to programs and community impact opportunities, strengthening the connection between corporate engagement and mission outcomes. Manage corporate sponsorship strategy for signature events and initiatives while aligning corporate partnerships with broader fundraising and program priorities. Employee Giving & Engagement Design and lead high-impact workplace giving campaigns with corporate partners to drive employee participation and revenue growth. Advise corporate leaders and employee resource groups on best practices to increase participation rates and average gift size. Develop toolkits, messaging frameworks, and engagement moments that inspire employee involvement and advocacy. Work with the Partner Engagement team to integrate workplace ambassador and champion programs that drive participation and internal momentum within companies. Corporate Relationship Stewardship Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of corporate partners and institutional funders. Cultivate relationships with corporate executives, CSR leaders, HR teams, employee resource groups, and other key stakeholders to secure and expand strategic partnerships. Develop and execute strategies to retain, upgrade, and reactivate corporate and workplace giving partners while identifying opportunities for new partner acquisition. Pursue unique opportunities for six and seven figure contributions from top institutional partners. Team Management & Development Supervise and mentor institutional giving staff, providing coaching, goal setting, and performance management. Establish clear fundraising processes, metrics, and accountability systems to drive performance across institutional and corporate giving programs. Partner closely with marketing and communications, community impact, finance, and volunteer engagement teams to deliver compelling partner experiences and engagement opportunities. Use data insights to refine fundraising strategies and improve campaign outcomes while contributing to broader corporate revenue planning. Other duties as assignedWHAT 1 YEAR OF SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Increase revenue from existing workplace campaigns from $2.5m to $3m Increase average employee participation rates across workplace campaigns by 20% 20% of targeted lapsed workplace giving and corporate partners through strategic outreach and partnership renewal efforts. Increase the number of corporate partners at higher giving levels through a formal partnership upgrade strategy SKILLS YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (The Must-Haves) Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising required. Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and developing direct reports required. Must have experience developing and managing workplace giving campaigns, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, corporate philanthropy programs, or institutional fundraising initiatives. Personal Qualities & Competencies: You enjoy a hybrid environment that includes both in-person and remote work styles and are able to work from our DTLA office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You are comfortable making the ask and confidently leading fundraising conversations. You are a strategic relationship builder who can engage and influence stakeholders ranging from frontline employees to senior executives. You are accountable for results and have a track record of setting ambitious goals, developing strategies to achieve them, and consistently delivering outcomes. You understand the value of racial equity as an organizational operating principle and are committed to continued learning on issues related to race, equity, diversity, and inclusion. You are familiar with Los Angeles’ philanthropic, corporate, nonprofit, or public sector landscape. You have experience using CRM platforms, fundraising databases, and reporting tools to manage relationships, track performance, and inform strategy. You have experience leading through organizational change, building new programs, or developing fundraising strategies in evolving environments. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy identifying opportunities, creating solutions, and building new partnerships. You are energized by connecting people, companies, and resources to meaningful community impact. You can be persuasive when getting someone to see the glass as half full vs. half empty and focus on the outcome vs. the obstacles they may face to get there. You know your way around the Microsoft Windows operating systems and all it's essential programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and TeamsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hiring Salary Range: $120,000-135,000 per year dependent on internal equity and a variety of job-related factors including, but not limited to, experience, training, education, and market demands.
