Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in school settings or similar educational environments
• Ability to facilitate clear, accurate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and staff
• Strong understanding of student privacy and professional ethics
• Preferred: National Interpreter Certification (NIC), EIPA, or state credential for educational interpreting
• Collaborative, adaptable, and committed to supporting diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities for students and school staff
• Support student participation in both academic and extra-curricular school activities
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
• Facilitate effective communication between families, teachers, counselors, and administrative staff
• Contribute to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and monitor student progress as requested
• Modify services as student needs evolve throughout the contract period
