Lab Assistant - Hematology
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for hematology work in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves receiving and processing clinical specimens, maintaining lab equipment, and performing data entry in a fast-paced environment. Tuesday–Saturday shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for testing
- Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
- Monitor lab equipment functionality and perform minor maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain test bench supplies
- Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfort handling biological specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- High attention to detail with multitasking capability
- Pass standardized color blindness test
- 3+ months specimen processing or laboratory experience (preferred)
