Job Overview TRAVEL Industrial Mechanic $38/hr + $150/day per diem (7 days) 3-Month Project | Starts ASAP Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and mechanical systems on construction/ag equipment Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues Disassemble/reassemble equipment (skid steers, loaders) including major components (drive motors, pumps, clutches) Build, modify, and repair prototype units, assemblies, and components Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings Perform fabrication and welding (as needed) for repairs and prototype builds Operate shop equipment including CNC machines, lathes, mills, presses, and hand tools Support equipment installation, alignment, and setup Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance activities Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace Required Skills & Experience 2+ years in manufacturing/industrial or heavy equipment environment 3+ years hands‑on experience with diesel engines or heavy equipment repair Strong mechanical aptitude (hydraulics, engines, drivetrain systems) Experience working on construction, agricultural, or similar equipment Ability to read prints, schematics, and technical documentation Proficient with hand tools, diagnostics, and repair processes Comfortable with disassembly/rebuild work beyond basic maintenance Preferred Experience Diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience (CAT, Cummins, etc.) Experience with skid steers, loaders, or ag equipment Fabrication and welding experience Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems troubleshooting Experience with CNC or machining equipment Work Environment Indoor production facility working on prototype and production equipment Hands‑on environment with heavy equipment, tools, and machinery 3rd shift available with consistent overtime (10–15 hrs/week typical) Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 – $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
