Litigation Support Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Support Attorney in Chicago, Illinois, to support its representation of plaintiffs in complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels. This role is ideal for an attorney who excels in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and focuses on litigation support, procedural execution, and quality control. Duties Assist with coordinating and assigning litigation support tasks to paralegals and legal assistants. Mentor and train legal support staff to enhance litigation skills and procedural knowledge. Manage and support all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. Oversee pretrial filings, manage trial transcripts, and organize trial exhibits. Draft, review, and organize legal documents using Microsoft Word and related systems. Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw and other sources. Perform detailed cite-checking and quality control of legal documents. Organize and maintain case files and related documents in electronic systems. Communicate with courts, outside counsel, clients, and vendors as needed. Collaborate with attorneys to develop efficient procedures and improve workflows. Requirements Strong understanding of federal and state litigation procedures. Advanced proficiency in legal research and Bluebook citation standards. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to coach and mentor legal support staff. Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Education JD or LL.B. required; LL.M. acceptable with at least 10 years of experience. Certifications Admission to at least one U.S. state bar required; active status preferred. Skills Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with litigation teams.
