Job Summary:
The dialysis nursing position is located in Decatur, Illinois, within an acute care hospital specializing in inpatient dialysis services. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments, with a focus on acute renal failure and related conditions. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift, from 0700 to 1730, with 2 to 3 overnight calls per week. Every third Saturday, on call until Monday 0700, with a 1-hour response time for emergent cases.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license, minimum of 1 year of dialysis experience, BLS certification required, ACLS preferred, Cerner electronic medical record experience preferred, and the ability to cannulate arteriovenous fistulas and grafts, with proficiency in administering blood products and managing dialysis equipment and alarms.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in acute care inpatient dialysis, familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and vascular access management.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 2-room, 4-bed inpatient dialysis unit within an acute care hospital, offering interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and others. Candidates must be able to handle complex dialysis procedures and manage related complications. The patient census ranges from 3 to 6 patients daily.
