The cardiologist will be based in our Abingdon, Virginia facility. Our team comprises over 40 cardiologists, including specialists in non-invasive and interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, electrophysiology, CT surgery, and thoracic surgery, supported by more than 35 physician extenders. We are nationally recognized for our excellence in cardiovascular care and are committed to innovative practices in this field.

Our advanced system for managing cardiovascular diseases features the only regional STEMI transfer program in the state, active research initiatives with publications in prestigious journals such as NEJM, and well-established vascular and structural heart programs.

This is a full-time role within a well-established and stable group. Qualified candidates will work at our clinic in Abingdon and within the Johnston Memorial Hospital Cath Lab, which is equipped with cutting-edge technology. The team will include one Invasive Cardiologist, two Interventional Cardiologists, Nurse Practitioners, and a dedicated support staff. Additional assistance will be available as needed. Johnston Memorial Hospital is a 116-bed facility known for its skilled physicians and compassionate nursing and technical staff. All necessary advanced technology for your practice will be readily accessible.

• Johnston Memorial Hospital performs an average of 65 catheterizations monthly, including approximately 40 diagnostic and 25 interventional procedures, as well as permanent pacemaker and ICD insertions.
• The Philips Cath Lab is equipped with advanced cardiac support devices such as Laser, Volcano, EKOS, CardioMEMs, Penumbra, IABP, and Impella.
• We offer the only 24/7 STEMI service in Southwest Virginia, handling around 80 STEMI cases annually.

Johnston Memorial Hospital is a modern 116-bed facility located in Abingdon, Virginia. Opened in 2011, it is recognized as the first "green" hospital in Southwest Virginia, certified by LEED and Energy Star. The hospital provides a wide array of services, including a 24-hour interventional cardiology program, critical care, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, a family birth center with a dedicated pediatric hospitalist team, women's health services, laboratory services with direct access testing, outpatient rehabilitation, palliative care, a sleep center, and surgical services through an Outpatient Surgery Center. Additionally, the hospital houses a Regional Cancer Center offering comprehensive cancer treatment, including medical and radiation oncology, diagnostic radiology, and laboratory services.
