Senior Project Manager leads complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through warranty, ensuring an exceptional client experience at every stage. This role serves as the primary liaison between the project owner and the construction team, overseeing schedule, budget, quality, and safety while driving successful delivery of large‑scale projects. Job Title Senior Project Manager Responsibilities Create and maintain a consistent, high‑quality client experience throughout all phases of the project, from preconstruction through warranty. Serve as the primary point of contact between the project owner and the construction team, building strong relationships and ensuring clear, timely communication. Develop, manage, and maintain the overall construction project schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues to keep the project on track. Update project job costs regularly to ensure accurate financial tracking and forecasting. Lead and conduct Owner/Architect/Engineer (O/A/E) meetings, ensuring alignment among all stakeholders and clear documentation of decisions and action items. Process change events and prepare associated change orders, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, and approval in a timely manner. Review and approve subcontractor pay applications and field invoices, verifying accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contract terms and project progress. Assist the superintendent with site logistics and on‑site management to support efficient construction operations. Actively participate in site safety efforts, reinforcing safety standards and helping to maintain a safe work environment for all team members and subcontractors. Review and monitor project quality, ensuring that work meets or exceeds project specifications, design intent, and client expectations. Coordinate with internal and external teams to manage RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation in a timely and organized manner. Support program management activities across multiple projects or programs as needed, ensuring consistency in processes and outcomes. Essential Skills 10+ years of construction project management experience, preferably within core project types such as commercial, healthcare, and municipal construction. Proven experience managing construction projects with a minimum value of $10 million, with the ability to handle projects of $25 million or more. Demonstrated success in starting and finishing projects valued at $20 million and above. Strong expertise in construction costs, including budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting. Advanced skills in construction scheduling, with the ability to develop, maintain, and adjust complex project schedules. Experience in estimating and purchasing, including evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement processes. Solid understanding of engineering practices and construction management principles. Hands‑on project management experience in commercial construction environments. Proficiency in managing RFIs and change orders throughout the project lifecycle. Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong relationships throughout the project. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in commercial construction, including projects in education, healthcare, and municipal sectors. Background in program management or managing multiple projects concurrently. Construction management education or related training is highly beneficial. Ability to interpret and apply construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and project controls. Capability to collaborate effectively with superintendents and field teams to support site logistics and operations. Work Environment The role is based out of a headquarters environment with approximately 115 team members, fostering a collaborative and professional culture. Project managers work on local projects, with no regular travel required, and efforts are made to keep assignments within about one hour of home. The position involves close coordination with field teams and superintendents, regular presence on active construction sites, and participation in site safety initiatives. Team members receive a truck allowance and fuel support, as well as a company‑provided laptop and phone to perform their duties efficiently.
