Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ED RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care, including pediatric experience, and will be committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Overview

Unit Type: Emergency Department
Number of Beds: 64 (2 Triage, 40 Acute, 6 Super Track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, 6 Psych)
Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
Patient Demographics: Newborn, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatric
Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun

Role Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for:

Providing direct patient care to individuals of all ages in a high-acuity environment
Administering medications and drips, including pressors such as Levophed, Epi, and Dobutamine
Monitoring and assessing patient conditions and responses to treatments
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
Floating to various areas within the department as needed

Qualifications

Current and active New York State RN License
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department
Pediatric experience is preferred
Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
Valid driver's license matching the address demographics
Documentation of travel nursing experience

Working Conditions

Shift: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
