Associate Attorney

Job Overview Associate Attorney position in Vernon Hills, IL. This role offers significant courtroom experience with regular court appearances and management of a contested litigation queue. The role also includes reviewing new claims and pleadings, with no billable hour requirements. Responsibilities Appear in court a minimum of three days per week. Review new claims for compliance. Review and sign off on pleadings for court filing. Draft various motions and responses to contested matters. Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations. Manage telephonic and written contact with opposing counsel. Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims. Requirements Juris Doctorate and admittance to the Illinois Bar; additional licenses in other states preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Collection Master or equivalent case file management system preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with diverse staff, judges, and opposing counsel. Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions. Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills. Education Juris Doctorate Certifications Admittance to Illinois Bar Skills Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with case file management systems.
