DIRECTOR OF NURSING | CLINICAL OPERATIONS & PATIENT EXPERIENCE

Heaven Sent Home Nursing Care agency is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to help establish and lead our clinical operations. Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized and collaborative Part Time Director of Nursing to lead and oversee nursing services. This vital role combines leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, clinical expertise, and compassionate care to ensure patients receive the highest quality of health services. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a thorough understanding of nursing administration, and a passion for enhancing patients' well being.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Operations & Patient Care

  • Develop and oversee all clinical programs and nursing services

  • Conduct initial patient assessments and reassessments

  • Create and monitor individualized care plans

  • Ensure quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in home settings

  • Supervise medication management and clinical procedures

Agency Setup & Compliance

  • Assist in establishing clinical policies, procedures, and workflows

  • Ensure compliance with Rhode Island Department of Health regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and agency licensing requirements

  • Prepare documentation for inspections, audits, and accreditation processes

  • Develop infection prevention and patient safety protocols

Staff Recruitment & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and caregivers

  • Conduct orientation and competency evaluations

  • Build staff schedules and ensure adequate case coverage

  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching

  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Provide support during weekends or holidays as needed

  • Strong leadership and a startup mindset

Business Growth & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians, and case managers to secure referrals.

  • Support business development and community outreach efforts

  • Assist ownership with service expansion and operational planning Documentation & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee accurate patient charting and EMR compliance

  • Conduct chart audits and quality assurance reviews

  • Monitor patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes

  • Provide clinical support as needed

Qualifications

  • Active Rhode Island RN License required

  • Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)

  • 3–5+ years of nursing leadership experience (home care, geriatrics, long-term care, or skilled nursing preferred)

  • Experience with home care regulations and compliance is strongly preferred

  • Preferably home health/home nursing or home care experience

  • Previous supervisory/management experience

  • Experience developing and reviewing plans of care

  • Experience supervising RNs, LPNs, CNAs and/or homemakers

  • Knowledge of Rhode Island home-care regulations

  • Experience with audits, QA/QI and incident reporting

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Excellent communication with families and physicians

  • Comfortable with a concierge/white-glove care model

Employment Type: Part Time
Salary: $45 - $55 Hourly
