Drop Off Attendant

Summary Of Job Employee serves as attendant for the city recycling and yard waste drop-off point. Current hours for the position are: Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday (Apr June) 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday (Oct Dec) 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday (Rest of the Year) 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM * Hours are subject to change due to weather, holidays, etc.*This is a part-time position with limited benefits. Tasks Routinely Performed Attendant for city recycling and yard waste drop-off point. Verify city residency for drop-off point users as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to work day hours. Must be able to stand and walk continuously 6-8 hours per day, 3 days per week. Must be able to bend, squat and twist to lift 51-100 pounds occasionally and 20-50 pounds continuously. Must have no limitations that impair doing the responsibilities of the position with either left or right hands. Must have no impairments that result from continuous exposure to odors from solid waste or yard waste. Must be able to work in all outdoor environmental conditions from extreme heat, rain, snow, humidity, to extreme cold. Must have no limitations on seat belt use. Essential Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of department operating procedures, city recycling and solid waste rules, policies and ordinances. Must have good public relation skills, the ability to make judgement decisions and work unsupervised. Ability to write legibly for data collection and completion of reports.
