Job Highlights

• Average 36 patient-facing hours per week, including clinic and OR
• Rotating call coverage with in-house OB Hospitalist and Certified Nurse Midwife support
• Available block time in the OR with 24/7 physician anesthesia coverage
• Primary location: IU Health Obstetrics & Gynecology - 2901 W Jackson St, Muncie, IN (75%)
• Secondary location: IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital (25%)
• Opportunities for teaching with Family Medicine residents and medical students

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital recently completed a major renovation of its North Tower, transforming the labor and delivery experience:

• Integrated Unit: Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby teams now share a continuous unit with combined nurses' stations for seamless care.
• Room Features:
  • 8 spacious labor & delivery rooms
    • 3 with negative air isolation
    • 2 ADA-compliant
    • 2 with patient lifts
    • 1 with a labor/birthing tub
  • 17 postpartum rooms (2 ADA-compliant, 2 with negative air isolation)
• Surgical Capabilities: 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms for cesarean deliveries
• NICU: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for critically ill newborns
• PAWS Unit: Pediatric hospitalists available 24/7 for children recovering from illness or surgery.

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is a 379-bed hospital and is designated as alevel 3 trauma center. It is both a teaching hospital and a regional tertiary referral center. Over the last decade, the hospital has undergone a $130 million remodel. Since the early 1980s, physicians and staff members have been actively involved in national and international medical research studies, particularly in the areas of oncology, cardiology and coagulation.
