Police Support Specialist

Job Title

The City of Springdale, AR is seeking a dedicated individual for a records maintenance and data entry position.

Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for performing general records maintenance and data entry. Safety/Security Sensitive Designation: This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Job Duties

The duties include providing good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintaining positive and effective working relationships with other City employees, responding to requests for information, auditing and validating files and records, ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal, local statutes, guidelines, laws, policies, procedures, and regulations, receiving and finalizing reports of crime, providing quality customer service to the public and employees, transcribing and entering reports into Police Records Management System, maintaining NIBRS compliance, answering phones and assisting with the general public in the lobby, receiving and processing cash payments, receiving and entering accident reports, arrests, citations, other general forms, compiling statistical data as requested, assisting with crime analysis processes as assigned, working with local prosecutors, courts, and other agencies when requests for information are received, entering warrants for wanted persons into the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) databases, and performing other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 7-11 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ACIC Level I and II or CJIS Certification. Proficiency in the use of personal computer, Microsoft Office Suite, HTE AS400, Tyler/New World RMS, ACIC/NCIC database, and standard office equipment. Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Ability to withstand a complete background investigation, polygraph examination, and drug screening(s).

Supplemental Information

Must be able to pass FBI criminal background fingerprint check and have the ability to comply with state and federal requirements for criminal justice information security standards and obtain necessary certifications.
