Our Professional Liability and Employment teams handle complex and high-exposure matters involving professional malpractice, employment disputes, regulatory investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and workplace litigation in both state and federal courts. Associates will gain hands-on experience across all phases of litigation while working closely with experienced litigators in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Prepare substantive and discovery-related motions
• Participate in court appearances, oral arguments, mediations, and conferences
• Assist with employment litigation matters, including workplace disputes and administrative proceedings
• Represent professionals and businesses in complex professional liability matters
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and strategic case updates
• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on case strategy and matter management

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar required
• Experience in professional liability, employment litigation, or defense litigation preferred
• Superior legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Strong time management and client service skills

Base Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, as well as the candidate's experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary represents just one component of the comprehensive Total Rewards package offered by Kaufman Dolowich, which also includes a discretionary and billable hours-based bonus program and a robust benefits offering for full-time employees.
