Description

Candidates with experience on a Studer S41 CNC Grinder preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Loads, unloads, stops, and starts manual and or CNC machines.
• Performs repeat setups. Listens to machine during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull (in need of dressing) grinding wheels.
• Measures dimensions of finished pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and fixtures.
• Select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
• Dress grinding wheels according to specifications.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to operate various type of machines such as surface grinders, CNC grinding machines and or manual grinding machines as well as their maintenance.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading calipers, micrometers, and basic trigonometry or math skills is a must. Ability to use math to solve problems. Knowledge of GDT.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• A minimum 1-3 years of experience working with various metals.
