Job Title Consumer Lending Processor

Reports to Lending Supervisor/Regional Branch Director/CLO/CFO/EVP/CEO

Learning Period 6 – 8 Weeks

Purpose

Prepares and processes all consumer lending documents. Builds and maintains successful member relationships by funding and servicing loans to the member’s complete satisfaction, while simultaneously ensuring that supporting documentation and records are accurately prepared according to FSCU policies and procedures.

• Adept at utilizing most current technology and software to process and fund loans.
• Proficient knowledge of our electronic signature capabilities and program.
• Comfort working in a fast paced sales environment and ability to handle multiple commitments and meet deadlines.
• Possesses good judgment skills and displays curiosity in attempting to understand “why’s” behind skills and concepts used.
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional member service with a “whatever it takes” attitude.
• Able to identify and refer cross-sell opportunities.
• Consistently and quickly deliver high quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates excellent phone rapport.
• Ability to compose a professional business letter or e-mail.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office products, online chat, internet research and various other online applications.
• Ability to type a minimum of 50 WPM.
• Thorough knowledge of data processing system relative to lending.
• Possesses strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws/regulatory requirements as related to functional areas including Truth in Lending, Reg B, Reg Z and Bank Secrecy Act.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work various hours based on business needs, including Saturdays and evenings.
• Job requirements may be revised at discretion of management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Successfully and completely processes consumer loan applications, consumer loan funding, all forms of loan maintenance and loan related transactions.
• Accurately determines invoice and wholesale values for various types of collateral.
• Handles inquiries and provides assistance to sales team on status of loan application. Follows up with key individuals immediately to resolve problems and/or respond to inquiries.
• Prepares necessary forms/documentation and obtains required information.
• Verifies the income of the borrower(s); verifies employment when required.
• Reviews and interprets instructions and conditions from the Underwriter for closing.
• Prepares and/or monitors closing documentation, disclosures and disbursement of loans.
• Prepares necessary notifications and forms for all denied consumer loan applications and documents loan denials.
• Performs quality control on loan files to ensure all necessary paperwork, signatures, fees and computer information is included and accurate.
• Processes lien perfections on applicable loans and performs follow up on loan files to ensure lien instruments are received in a timely manner.
• Processes paid out loans and releases lien instruments in a timely manner.
• Tracks GAP policies, extended service contracts, and credit protection sold by Sales Team and process claims filed subsequently.
• Prepares and/or maintains reporting information of the consumer lending department and forwards data on a regular basis to appropriate management personnel.
• Performs final audit and verifies that consumer lending documentation complies with rules and regulations.
• Responsible for knowing all aspects of the credit union’s product line and services including rates, terms and fees.
• Ability to work with members and staff tactfully and professionally, both in-person and on the phone.
• Proactively find ways to support the lending department’s goals and work collaboratively with co-workers.
• Effectively manages time and resources.
