Job Description The Boeing Company is currently seeking Software Engineers–Developer (Associate, Experienced and Senior) to support our E-7 Software New Business team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization. The AEW&C E-7 New Business team will engage in cutting‑edge research and development to lay the foundation of the future of the E-7 platform's software capabilities. This team is a passionate, driven and collaborative team that embraces modern software best practices, standards and initiatives to enhance the E-7 platform's performance and adaptability. Position Responsibilities Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products. Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Software Engineers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret – Final Post‑Start 2+ years of experience in C++ or Java Bachelor's Degree Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or related relevant work experience Level 2: 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 4: 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes. Understanding of the relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems. Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components. Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply it to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher‑order languages, auto‑coded languages and assembly languages. Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub‑system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle. Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints. Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software. Knowledge of general software development and testing tools, capable usage. Examples include compilers, linkers, debuggers, data analysis tools, graphical user interface builders, post‑processing tools, requirements management tools, and web authoring tools. Knowledge of domains, characteristics, constraints and products that require software and influence architecture, requirements, interfaces, designs, and integration/test approaches. Domain examples include data processing, ground support, tools and analysis models. Examples of characteristics and constraints that impact software include operating systems, fidelity and information processing capacity. Examples of products include aircraft, missiles, airborne/shipboard/space systems/ground‑based support systems. Knowledge of supplier assessment processes including Preferred Supplier Certification and Work Transfer Process. Elements of assessment include supplier's past performance, business processes, capacity plan, statement of work evaluation, risk mitigation plan, capabilities and lean practices to rate supplier viability. Ability to control and deliver project deliverables, project accounting and appraisal, and optimize the contribution using project management tools. Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety.
