Hardware Engineer

Ambiorix is a new venture from the team behind Ectosense, a sleep-diagnostics company acquired in 2021 by ResMed (NYSE: RMD). After several years at ResMed, we’re applying that experience to build an organization dedicated to delivering well-engineered diagnostic devices at competitive prices. Our aim is to broaden access to high-quality diagnostics by improving efficiency and lowering cost without compromising performance. By the end of 2027, we target the capacity to test 100,000 patients per Ambiorix employee. Responsibilities Develop state-of-the-art diagnostic medical devices from prototypes to mass production Create schematic designs, perform PCB layout, and collaborate with manufacturing partners for fabrication and assembly Work closely with mechanical engineers and manufacturing teams for rapid prototyping, design iterations, and troubleshooting production issues Support documentation and verification efforts for FDA, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and EMC/ESD compliance Must Have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experiencewith circuit design, PCB layout (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar), and embedded hardware development Passion for hardware products Good written and spoken English Highly creative and autonomous Nice to have Experience writing firmware in C Experience with communication protocols such as BLE Experience with mass production processes Experience with low-power, battery-operated devices Experience with regulations such as ISO 13485 andIEC 60601 What's in it for you?
