Role Description The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Homewood, AL. This role is responsible for supporting physicians and clinical teams during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including patient preparation, operation of imaging and monitoring equipment, and adherence to sterile technique. Daily tasks include setting up and calibrating cath lab equipment, assisting with contrast administration and device placement, monitoring patient status, and documenting procedure details in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards. The technologist also participates in quality assurance activities, equipment maintenance checks, and inventory management, while coordinating closely with nursing and cardiology staff to ensure safe, efficient, and timely care. The role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, clear communication, and effective teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment. Qualifications Clinical and technical proficiency in cardiac catheterization procedures, including operation of imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and related cath lab equipment. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional cardiology principles, with the ability to apply protocols and guidelines in practice. Strong patient care skills, including safe positioning, monitoring of vital signs, and support during invasive procedures. Attention to detail in documentation, adherence to sterile technique, and compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a team-based environment. Ability to remain calm, organized, and focused in high-acuity and time-sensitive clinical situations. Relevant certification or licensure as a Cardiovascular Technologist or Radiologic Technologist, as required by state and facility standards. Previous experience in a cardiac cath lab, interventional radiology, or similar procedural environment is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or eligibility and willingness to obtain them within required timeframes.
