IT Business Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst to support the CIO organization at HII Mission Technologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Serving as a strategic partner to IT managers, architecture teams, PMO leadership, and business stakeholders across the organization.

-Gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements for multiple concurrent IT initiatives.

-Translating ambiguous business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and actionable requirements.

-Partnering with the architecture team to evaluate business needs, develop potential solutions, and create repeatable models for future initiatives.

-Supporting project intake, governance, and prioritization processes to ensure new requests align with broader IT strategy.

-Acting as a Business Relationship Management partner by connecting business strategy, stakeholder needs, and technical execution.

-Supporting the organization’s AI operating model by helping evaluate AI use cases, document requirements, navigate governance requirements, and prepare initiatives for review.

-Facilitating requirements workshops and stakeholder meetings while confidently asking questions, challenging unclear requests, and driving decisions.

-Identifying process efficiencies and continuous-improvement opportunities across IT.

-Supporting project and program managers with documentation, coordination, project tracking, and light project management responsibilities.

-Partnering with developers, architects, testers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, testable, and delivered correctly.

-Supporting UAT, QA, requirements traceability, scope management, and change documentation.

-Helping standardize BA processes, governance procedures, templates, and documentation across the CIO organization.

-Working across siloed and evolving strategies to ensure individual initiatives remain aligned with the broader IT roadmap.

Skills and Requirements

-6+ years of Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, or comparable requirements-focused experience

-3+ years supporting projects within an IT environment

-Strong requirements gathering and documentation experience

-Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and backlog items

-Strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills

-Ability to confidently challenge unclear requirements and drive clarity through ambiguity

-Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies

-Experience with Jira and Confluence or comparable requirements and documentation tools

-Understanding of the SDLC and how requirements move through design, development, testing, and implementation

-Strong business and technical communication skills

-Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple initiatives

-General understanding of AI/ML concepts and technology implementation

-Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent additional experience -Experience implementing or supporting AI solutions within a regulated environment

-Product Owner or Product Manager experience with hands-on requirements ownership

-Business Relationship Management experience

-Experience partnering with enterprise architecture teams

-Process mapping and continuous-improvement experience

-UAT, QA, test-case development, and defect-tracking experience

-Experience supporting intake, governance, or portfolio review processes

-Federal, defense, government, or highly regulated enterprise experience

-Familiarity with NIST, CMMC Level 2, cybersecurity, or compliance-driven environments

-Experience working within AWS GovCloud or Microsoft 365 GCC High environments

-Experience with SharePoint and Visio

-SAFe experience or certification

CBAP, PMI-PBA, SAFe POPM, ICP-BA, or similar certification
