About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: Great communication skills Teamwork Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. The unit has 48 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6, sometimes 1:7. Staff includes 9 nurses, 5 patient care technicians, and 1 unit secretary. Equipment used includes EKG machines, bladder scanners, and ultra-light devices for IV insertion. The documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include 3-12 hour shifts with every other weekend. Floating policy is PRN. The unit performs wound care and I/O catheterizations. The unit is recognized for reducing acquired infections. Staff emphasizes teamwork and has many success stories of helping patients return home safely.
