Physician - Hospitalist - Academic Opportunity in Beautiful Montana (Great Falls)

Overview

Benefis Health System is seeking a board‑certified Internal Medicine physician for the hospitalist group at our academic community hospital in Great Falls, Montana.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load with a target start‑of‑day census of 15 patients.
• Work 12‑hour shifts, 7 on / 7 off block schedule, typically days (Wed‑Tues).
• Provide inpatient care for adult medical and surgical patients (18+), excluding obstetrics.
• Assist with afternoon admissions (11a‑9p) and night coverage (7p‑7a).
• Collaborate with a team of 7–8 physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, residents, and medical students.
• Teach and supervise internal medicine residents and medical students.
• Coordinate inpatient utilization management for surgical patients.
• Provide care in a level II trauma setting with access to 400+ specialists across 40 specialties.

Qualifications

• Board‑certified in Internal Medicine; Bachelor of Medicine/Physician‑Doctor required.
• Experience or willingness to adapt to Epic EMR.
• Preference for candidates experienced in surgery coordination or inpatient medicine.
