- CNA | Certified Nursing Assistant | Community Aide /M-F 8a-5pKansas City, KS 66112## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftDay## Description**Midland Care Connection**Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on \"meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions,\" and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas.**Community Aide**This CNA position provides essential, hands-on care to clients in their homes to help them remain safe, healthy, and independent. Their responsibilities typically include assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. They may also help with basic household tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders. They will monitor and report changes in a client’s condition to nurses or supervisors, support comfort and safety, and offer companionship. Their role is vital in allowing clients—often older adults or individuals with chronic conditions—to remain in a familiar, supportive home environment.**Hours** Full Time | M-F | 8:00am-5:00pm**Pay Rate** CNA - $18.15+/hour | HHA - $20.50+/hour**Bonuses** CNA - $1,000 | HHA - $1,500 To be paid in two increments at 6 months and 1 year of employment + CNA's receive paid training to obtain their HHA license after 60 days**Shift Differentials** $1.00 Weekdays | 5:00pm – 8:00pm $1.50 Weekends | 8:00am – 5:00pm $2.00 Weekends | 5:00pm – 8:00am## Qualifications**Required*** Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Kansas* High school diploma or GED* Ability to provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility* Basic knowledge of infection control, safety practices, and patient rights* Ability to observe, document, and report changes in a client’s condition to nursing staff or supervisors* Compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered approach to care* Strong communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work independently in clients’ homes while following care plans* Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods* Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to clients’ homes* Ability to pass background checks, health screenings, and required trainings**Preferred*** Previous experience working with older adults, individuals with chronic illness, or those with mobility or cognitive impairments* Prior home health, hospice, palliative care, or PACE program experience* Experience assisting with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication reminders* Familiarity with interdisciplinary care teams and community-based healthcare models* CPR/First Aid certification* Demonstrated ability to provide emotional support and companionship to clients* Commitment to Midland Care Connection’s mission of supporting independence, dignity, and quality of life for seniors**What’s in it for you?*** Health insurance options for employees and dependents* Dental, vision, and prescription drug plans* Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA) or Heath Savings Account (HSA), with employer contributions* Paid Time Off (PTO), Personal and Taking Care of You Days* Holiday pay (six holidays per year)* 403(b) ERISA Retirement Plan, match provided* Free group life and AD&D insurance of $20,000* On-site education center to provide professional development and CEU credits* Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and dependents* Paid monthly volunteer time at non-profit organizations* Uniform Allowance Program**Appy Today!**Take the next step in making a meaningful difference—apply today to join our team as a Community Aide and help support individuals in the comfort of their own homes with compassion, skill, and dignity.*Midland Care Connection is an equal opportunity employer.
