Pay or shift range: $70,306 USD to $75,000 USD. Final offers extended based on experience, qualifications and other job-related details. Description Starting Salary: $70,306 - $75,000 per year based on experience, plus $2,000 Annual Education Stipend. Responsibilities Creating an inclusive, collaborative environment that actively involves students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Establishing a classroom climate built on mutual respect, fairness, and clear expectations, emphasizing social development and positive group interactions by modeling PBIS. Implementing and reinforcing PBIS strategies, behavior expectations, reward systems, and appropriate consequences. Tracking and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate files, and generating comprehensive reports. Delivering differentiated instruction individually or collaboratively in a co-teaching environment to meet IEP goals. Adapting curricular content and instructional approaches for diverse learning styles and capabilities, providing guidance to staff on differentiation. Utilizing engaging instructional methods, resources, and educational software to support diverse student needs. Managing caseload responsibilities, including developing, updating, and implementing individualized education plans. Preparing detailed daily lesson plans and organizing instructional materials aligned with standards and student objectives. Maintaining an organized, safe classroom environment, managing supplies and resources effectively. Staying informed on current research-based practices and trends in special education. Responding constructively to feedback from evaluations and observations, pursuing ongoing professional growth. Supporting the school community by performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a closely related field. Licensed currently or in process of obtaining a valid CA state teaching credential. Licensed currently or in process of obtaining an education specialist or SPED instruction credential. Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company-approved crisis management training. Prior experience in curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction; preferred in alternative, special education, or behavioral health settings. Knowledge of special education services and compliance for students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, autism spectrum, and related disabilities. Experience with IEPs. Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs. Proficient in motivating students and having critical conversations to help them toward realistic goals. Strong oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision‑making. Ability to think and act calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions. Knowledge of relevant technology, including instructional tech, Microsoft Office, database entry, and basic office equipment.
