Overview

We’re hiring a Trailer Mechanic to handle repairs, fabrication, and maintenance on trailers. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who wants to grow into a Lead/Foreman position within a year .

• Perform trailer repairs, fabrication, and general maintenance
• Handle electrical repairs and rewiring
• Perform MIG or Stick welding (including aluminum)
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems and compressors
• Repair trailer structures (side sheets, frames, etc.)
• Replace brakes, tires, and other components
• Use a computer to document work and complete inspections
• Help train and mentor team members over time

• Experience as a trailer or heavy-duty truck mechanic
• Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical + electrical)
• Experience with ABS systems
• Welding experience (MIG or Stick)
• Comfortable working in a shop environment and outdoors

• Previous leadership or foreman experience
• Experience with truck systems (transmissions, refrigeration, etc.)
• ASE certification or similar experience

• Clear path to Lead/Foreman role within a year
• Steady hours with consistent workload
• Growing team with expansion plans

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (flex to start at 8 AM if needed)
• 40-hour workweek
• Mix of indoor and outdoor work (weather exposure)
• PPE required (uniform + steel-toed boots)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valparaiso, IN.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Valparaiso,IN.
