Key Responsibilities: Provide nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients. Assess and continuously monitor maternal and fetal well-being. Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and identify abnormalities requiring intervention. Assess amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, labor progression, and maternal condition. Develop and implement individualized, multidisciplinary care plans. Provide safe and effective pain management throughout labor. Support pharmacological and alternative pain-management techniques. Assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor maternal/fetal status before, during, and after medication administration. Respond appropriately to perinatal emergencies , including: Emergency/crash C-sections Precipitous deliveries Shoulder dystocia Other obstetric emergencies Assist with and circulate for C-sections . Supervise and delegate appropriate patient-care activities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice. Educate patients and families throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum experience. Provide culturally sensitive, age-appropriate patient and family education. Accurately document assessments, interventions, care provided, and patient responses in Epic . Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, newborn care teams, and other multidisciplinary professionals. Support safe transitions through the postpartum period. Required Experience & Skills 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience. Strong LDRP experience preferred. Demonstrated competency in maternal and fetal assessment. Experience managing high-risk and emergent obstetric situations. C-section circulating experience. Strong fetal monitoring and interpretation skills. Ability to recognize and respond rapidly to changes in maternal or fetal condition. Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. Epic EMR experience required. Education & Certifications Required: Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent. Active RN license in the state of practice. BLS ACLS NRP AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring / Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Current certifications must meet facility requirements.
