Patient Collection Specialist

Title: Patient Collection Specialist Employment Type: Full Time Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm City: Bettendorf State: Iowa Position Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with patients and collection agencies regarding bill payment arrangements. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to, acting as a liaison between collection agencies and ORA Orthopedics' patients, answering patient questions regarding the status of their account balances over the phone, sending necessary letters to patients regarding the status of their accounts, working the collection queue, preparing and turning accounts over to collection agencies,running and working monthly reports related to collections accounts, and posting payments from collection agencies. ORA holds all our staff accountable for providing high-level care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations. Requirements This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in a medical office preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in personal computer applications, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, and medical terminology is highly desirable.
