Director, National Payer Accounts

Cogent Biosciences

Cogent Biosciences seeks a Director of National Payer Accounts to manage coverage strategy and relationships with government and regional insurance plans. The role involves executing market access objectives, collaborating across internal teams, and ensuring profitable product access while supporting the company's precision therapy pipeline.

Responsibilities

Execute customer strategy aligned with product and organizational goals for major payer accounts
Develop and implement customized market access strategies to maximize access and profitability
Lead strategic account interactions and relationship building with payer decision-makers
Monitor formulary access and insurance industry developments to inform market access planning
Provide payer expertise to influence broader sales and marketing strategy development

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience with sales management background
5+ years managing government and regional payer accounts
Experience in rare disease, hematology, and oncology preferred
Ability to communicate clinical value and product information to payers
Track record of securing payer coverage and contract negotiations
