Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and customer-focused Facility Service Technician to support the maintenance and repair needs of our commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general building maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. This role ensures that our buildings remain safe, functional, and well-presented for employees, clients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on facility systems including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general building structures.
• Complete general handyman duties such as painting, drywall patching, door and lock repairs, ceiling tile replacement, flooring, and furniture assembly.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently with minimal disruption to operations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to reduce downtime and prolong asset life.
• Assist with minor renovations, installations, and space reconfigurations as needed.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, supplies used, and equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Support facility moves, event setups, and other operational needs.
• Identify opportunities for facility improvements and cost-saving measures.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities services, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Trade certification(s) in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or a related discipline.
• Experience in commercial or multi-site facilities.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Hours:  Monday to Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with occasional evening or weekend work as needed for emergencies or special projects.

Travel: 0 - 10 %. The position does require travel to other Urth Caffe locations.

Wages: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour. The expected salary range for this position depends on experience, education, and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, relevant experience, and internal equity.
