Our client is a growing leader in emergency communications, temporary power solutions, and disaster response operations throughout the Western United States. Their teams help keep essential services running during wildfires, storms, utility outages, Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, and other emergencies by deploying power and connectivity solutions where they are needed most.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are seeking a Deployment Specialist to join their California operations team. This is a highly visible field-based role offering the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects, travel throughout the region, and develop expertise in emergency power deployment and disaster response.

What You'll Do

As a Deployment Specialist, you'll support emergency power operations throughout California and the Western region by:

• Deploying, positioning, retrieving, and supporting portable generator equipment at customer sites.
• Responding to emergency outages, storms, wildfires, PSPS activations, and disaster recovery situations.
• Driving company vehicles and towing generators and trailers to assigned locations.
• Performing equipment inspections, readiness checks, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Following scheduled refueling routes and supporting ongoing power restoration efforts.
• Maintaining accurate deployment, inspection, fuel, and service records.
• Supporting yard operations, equipment staging, and inventory movement when not deployed.

Important: This is not a Generator Technician position. The role focuses on deployment, logistics, inspections, and basic maintenance support, while advanced diagnostics and repairs are handled by specialized technicians.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently after training.
• Open availability and flexibility to support emergency response operations.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in changing field environments.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20-30%, including overnight travel during emergency events and peak season.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to meet company insurance requirements.
• Ability to safely tow trailers or willingness to complete company-provided training.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines.

Preferred Backgrounds

• Generator and power equipment operations
• Emergency response and disaster recovery
• Equipment rental or logistics operations

Generator experience is a plus, but it is not required . Successful team members have come from utility, telecom, and field service backgrounds and learned the generator side of the business through training.

Training & Development

The company provides hands-on onboarding and field training, including shadowing experienced Deployment Specialists. Training is tailored to each individual's experience level, helping employees build the technical skills and confidence needed to succeed in the role.
